Using oranges for drug trafficking

This morning we woke up to the news of the arrest of three people for drug trafficking. A news, unfortunately common, but that its exceptionality lies in the way in which one of them transported the drug. Inside the oranges.

The Civil Guard stopped a resident of Murcia in the port of Melilla who wanted to embark on foot, the private surveillance service observed through the scanner an anomaly in his bag and alerted the security forces. They searched the bag and found six large oranges with 263 acorns of hashish and a total of 2kg.

The owner of the bag, a 52-year-old Moroccan national living in Murcia, emptied the oranges inside leaving only the skin, stuffed them with the drugs and then closed them with transparent adhesive tape.

Besides being a crook, he's a bungler.
