Oranges a Day in Google Maps

From today it is easier than ever to find us. Just enter Google Maps and put Naranjas al Día and you will see our location on the map. There is no excuse to come and see us.

Those of you who follow this blog and the different social networks of Naranjas al Día know that one of our main objectives is to put the farmer in contact with the consumer of the products. Sometimes, those of you who were in the area or were passing by have been encouraged to pay us a visit. All of you had to call us to find us.

Faced with this fact we started working to make it very easy to locate us. So, we got in touch with Google to see how we could appear on Google Maps and shortly after, we already have our reference in the most used Atlas in the world.

Naranjas al Día is not easy to locate on the map. We don't have all our fields in the same location. That's why we decided to put as headquarters of Naranjas al Día our farm l'hort de la Llucera. There we have our rural house Villa Luz and our "warehouse" where we prepare all the orders that you make us.

We have to put a but to Google. It has been more than two years without updating the images. If you take a look you will see how the house is under construction. That image corresponds to more than two years ago when we were fixing what was once the home of our grandparents and great-grandparents and today you can all enjoy.

On the Naranjas al Día page you can see different images that Google Maps cannot show you, but you can also write a review. We encourage you to do so and write your impressions about our oranges, about our farms, about Villa Luz or whatever you want.

Guide to show your business on Google Maps

For those of you who have a business and still do not appear on Google Maps or recommend that you do. If it can help you we tell you how we have done it.

The truth is that making your business appear on Google Maps is very simple. All you have to do is create a Google+ page and put in your location. Then you will have to verify this location and that's it.

This is where we had the only complication. To verify our location we had to wait for a letter from Google with a password. All of this within set deadlines. The good thing about having your business in the middle of nature is that they don't bother you but it's also true that you don't get the letters.

As we did not receive the letter we could not verify the location. Google's telephone support was exceptional and they sorted it out for us straight away. We only had to prove that we existed. An email with some photos and it was solved.

To solve the problem of the location confirmation we spoke on the phone with a girl from Alicante who works for Google in Ireland. She was very helpful at all times. We have to convince Google to open an office here in Spain. With how good life is here, why do you have to take them to work in a rainy, cold place with so little sun?

Thank goodness we sent them oranges 🙂
